It was 12:00am on the city planet of Coruscant. The Jedi Temple was silent-well almost-as quiet as air. The warm gentle wind was blowing, and all the stars were shinning in the dark sky. Ahsoka Tano was in her room sleeping-actually faking it-while her master Anakin Skywalker was sound asleep in the bed next to hers. Ahsoka quietly sat up, and made sure that he was asleep, using the Force to gently lock into his mind. "Yup, asleep alright" she thought to herself, as she got up from her bed, and headed towards the door. She quietly left the room, and went down the hall on the right. She walked down the corridor, looking around and making sure that no one-and more importantly her own master-was there to see her. Once in a while, Ahsoka would see Obi-wan, taking a strole through the room of a thousand fountains, or Master Yoda walking towards the garden. As she made her way towards a balcony, she heard footsteps coming in from behind her. "Huh? She said in a hush tone. "Is anyone there?" she asked, but got no response when she turned around, since there was nothing in sight. So, Ahsoka continued on.
She finally made it to a small balcony. It may be small, but it had enough room for 3 people. This was Ahsoka's favorite place to be when she needs to be alone sometimes. Usually when she gets back from the frontlines. She leaned just over the railing, and looked up at the stars. "Wow!" she said, "the stars are really bright tonight!", as she stared at the gleaming orbs of light. Ahsoka was so sucked into star gazing, that she didn't even notice the footsteps, coming in from behind her. A dark figure slowly walked towards her, a strangely familiar gloved hand slowly extending towards her shoulder. Then, all of a sudden, Ahsoka felt something close by, used her echo-location through her Montrals to calculate its distance, and then spun around, while kicking the figure right in the stomach, pushing it back towards the door.
"Uh, I forgot how much of a kick you've got Snips!" Anakin said, placing a hand on his stomach. "Oh Master, I'm so sorry, I-I thought that you were someone else...." Ahsoka said, feeling rather guilty for actually kicking her own Master, as she lowered her head. Anakin had sensed her guilt, walked up to her, lifting her chin up with his mechanical hand. "Oh, it's alright snips, I know you didn't mean it", he said soothingly, trying to make her feel better by sending warm waves of comfort to her through the Force. "I know you were just trying to defend yourself. Besides, what're you doing here?" he asked, removing his hand from her chin, since she obviously could hold it up on her own, and putting his hand on her shoulder. "Well," she began, "I guess, I like it here. This is well, like my own little place where I can just relax and find peace in my mind. Especially after all the battles so far," she said quietly, still looking straight into her master's bright blue eyes shining in the darkness. Anakin knew what it felt like to have so much on your mind, he's secretly married to senator Padme Amidala of course, but he didn't want to think about that right now, nor did he intended on telling Ahsoka about it anytime soon....for now at least. "I sometimes come here to look up at the stars, because somehow, just looking at them makes me feel just a bit safer and puts a bit of warmth in my heart...." the padawan continued, while turning back to the railing and looking back at the stars, still aware of her master standing right behind her, with a look of understanding, and a smile on his face.
Back when Anakin was still a young padawan, serving under master Obi-wan, he too use to come here, to this exact place, just thinking about his mother, thinking how she was, and that one day he'll see her again. And even after her death, he always thought of her, thinking that she is in a better place now, one with the Force. But a part of her still clings on to him, forever guiding him and telling him how much she loves him. And it's because of Anakin's love for her that makes him a very worthy opponent in battle, and make him more determined to take down, and destroy the Sepertists and the Sith, once and for all. Even thought the stars sometimes reminded him of his former life as a slave, which really irritated him, of how the 2 suns, also known as stars, always tried to burn him up on the hot, sandy planet of Tatooine. And yet, they also reminded Anakin of Padme. Her bright shining brown eyes, always constantly worrying if she were alright, and making sure that she didn't get herself in dangerous and difficult situations-and vice versa. And yet, somehow, she always manages to find him, no matter how far away from Coruscant or Naboo, giving him quite a headache from time to time. But it gave him something to talk about back home, next to the war in general, himself-as usual-and how Ahsoka was doing in her studies.
Anakin walked up just next to his apprentice, and looked up at the sky too. Ahsoka knew he was there, and didn't flinch, but just kept looking up at the sky. Anakin sighed; "You know what Snips? Just standing here, makes me realize something." Ahsoka turned her head and looked up at her master. "Oh ya? And what's that Skyguy?" she asked, wondering what it was. "Just being here with you, made me realize, that, I couldn't have been luckier to have a padawan so reckless, intelligent, so moxie-like, and yet.... So like me. But the one thing I like the most about you, is that your One of a Kind, and a once in a life time chance to have you as my apprentice, and that's what really makes me the happiest, just being her with you, right here, right now. " Anakin said, finally finding that place in his heart that made him so proud of his apprentice, realizing his happiness towards Ahsoka, and finally admitting it to her. He felt Ahsoka lean on his side, a smile formed on her face, head facing forward, yet she didn't make a sound. He gently placed his left arm around her, making sure not to tilt her over and make her fall. He started to kind of hear little soft breathing noises coming from her, but didn't put much thought about it. He looked down at her, realizing that she didn't say anything....at all, nor shifted in any direction, but rather strangely taking her eyes off the sky all of a sudden....He tried to move his hand so he could ask her something, but right as he moved his arm from her back, she started to fall. Luckily, he knelt down and caught her as she landed in his arms. He held her close, finally looking upon her face.
She was sleeping. Ahsoka fell asleep, right as he finished speaking, having finally gotten tired from star gazing, and gently landed within her master's arms. He smiled as he saw her peacefully, relaxed face sleeping happily under the warmth of the force in his arms. Anakin smiled as he lifted her up, and carried her all the way back to their shared quarters, and gently lying her down on her bed, head resting on the soft pillow and covered her up with the soft, warm red blankets over her body, and started to take her akul-tooth headdress to prevent it from snagging on the pillow. Once Anakin placed the headdress on the small night table beside her bed, he used the Force to drag a chair towards him and sat in it, just watching Ahsoka sleep for a few minutes. He started to gently rub her temple with his thumb, and noticed her colored skin and her birth-markings on her face, seeing how brightly white they turned during sleep. He smiled, got back up and gently threw the chair back to the desk on the other side of the room. He tip-toed back to his own bed, trying his best not to wake Ahsoka up, and quietly slipped under the covers of his bed, and lied down. Just before he closed his eyes, he turned his head towards her. "You truly are One of a Kind, Ahsoka." He said, then turning his head back towards to ceiling, and finally gently falling asleep, fully relaxed under the warmth of the Force. He truly felt proud of his padawan.
Proud, of Ahsoka Tano.
